Squash Patties

Cleazel's name for this recipe was "Squash Croquettes'. When her grandkids were very young, she would make these 'patties' and they would dip them in ketchup.

Ingredients
- 4 cups sliced squash
- 1 small onion chopped
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 3 T. salad oil
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Combine squash and onion. Add small amount of water. Cook until just tender - do not overcook.
- Drain.
- Add next 5 ingredients, mixing well.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into hot oil (enough to cover completely).
- Cook until golden brown.
