Chicken Tortilla Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 chicken cooked
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 4 T. flour
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1/2 cup half-n-half
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 t. garlic
  • 1 1/2 T. cumin
  • 1 t. oregano
  • 1 t. chili powder
  • T. Whochester sauce
  • 1 1/2 t. Louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes
  • Chili pepper

Instructions
 

  • De-bone chicken and cut up in bite size pieces Set aside. Sauté onion and
  • pepper in butter. Add flour, salt, pepper and mix well. Add broth slowly. Sim-
  • mer for 20 minutes. Add chicken and remaining ingredients except half-and-
  • half. If soup needs thickening - add flour. 5 minutes before serving, stir in half-
  • and-half. Top with grated cheese and serve with tortilla chips.
