Chicken Tortilla Soup
Ingredients
- 1 chicken cooked
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 bell pepper diced
- 4 T. flour
- 1 large onion diced
- 1/2 cup half-n-half
- 6 cups chicken broth
- pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 1/2 t. garlic
- 1 1/2 T. cumin
- 1 t. oregano
- 1 t. chili powder
- T. Whochester sauce
- 1 1/2 t. Louisiana hot sauce
- 1 can Rotel tomatoes
- Chili pepper
Instructions
- De-bone chicken and cut up in bite size pieces Set aside. Sauté onion and
- pepper in butter. Add flour, salt, pepper and mix well. Add broth slowly. Sim-
- mer for 20 minutes. Add chicken and remaining ingredients except half-and-
- half. If soup needs thickening - add flour. 5 minutes before serving, stir in half-
- and-half. Top with grated cheese and serve with tortilla chips.
