Ingredients
  

  • Shirley's Home Economics Recipe
  • 5 cups sifted self-rising flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 2 cups milk (2/3 cup powdered milk and
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water)

Instructions
 

  • Sift flour and sugar into large mixing bowl. Cut shortening into dry ingredients.
  • Dissolve yeast in warm water for 5 minutes and add to mixture. Add milk and
  • stir
  • to
  • dough stage. Place on floured surface and roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut
  • with biscuit cutter and place on greased baking pan. Let rise at room tempera-
  • ture for 1/2 hour. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
