Red Cherry Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
  • 4 T. flour
  • 1/4 t. almond extract
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cup sour red cherries and juice

Instructions
 

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan, stir in cherries and juice. Cook
  • over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
  • Pour into pastry-lined 9 inch crust. Dot with butter, cover with top crust.
  • Bake in 425 degree oven for 30 40 minutes.
