Missouri Walnut Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 t. nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 2 cup sifted cake flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 t. salt
Instructions
- In a large mixer bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a
- time, beating well after each addition. Sift together cake flour, salt, soda and
- nutmeg and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Beat until
- well blended. Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour into a greased and lightly
- floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 - 60 minutes.
- Let set 15 minutes in pan then turn out.
