Black Walnut Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cup plus 2 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cup sifted cake flour
- 1 cup minus 2 Tablespoon milk
- 3 t. baking powder
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 t. salt
- 2 eggs unbeaten
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup black walnuts chopped
Instructions
- Measure sifted flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into sifter. Beat butter just
- to
- soften, with in dry ingredients. Add 3/4 cup milk and the vanilla, mix in the
- flour mixture. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 1 minute.
- Fold in chopped nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost with
- Caramel filling.
