Black Walnut Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup plus 2 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cup sifted cake flour
  • 1 cup minus 2 Tablespoon milk
  • 3 t. baking powder
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 t. salt
  • 2 eggs unbeaten
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup black walnuts chopped

Instructions
 

  • Measure sifted flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into sifter. Beat butter just
  • to
  • soften, with in dry ingredients. Add 3/4 cup milk and the vanilla, mix in the
  • flour mixture. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 1 minute.
  • Fold in chopped nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost with
  • Caramel filling.
