Instructions
Bake at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
Sift together:
2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
Cream together:
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
Blend in:
2 unbeaten eggs
1 t. vanilla
Beat until fluffy
Add:
dry ingredients alternately with 3/4 cup milk;
Begin and end with dry ingredients.
Blend well after each addition.
Stir in:
1 cup salted nuts, broken
1 cup maraschino cherries, halved and drained
6 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Turn:
Into 15 x 10 X 1 inch pan, greased and floured. Bake
Frosting:
Brown 1/4 cup butter until deep brown.
Remove from heat.
Blend in 2 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1/2 t. vanilla flavoring.
Add 2 T. milk.
Beat until smooth.
