Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup self-rising flour sift twice
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 2 cups diced apples

Instructions
 

  • Cream sugar and eggs. Add other ingredients and beat well. Cook 40 to 45
  • minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter milk
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 t. soda
  • Put all this in double boiler when you put cake in the oven. Do not turn on until
  • about 7 minutes before cake is done, then bring to a hard boil and cook until a
  • soft ball forms in a cup of cold water. When cake is done punch holes with
  • toothpick and pour over cake.
