Pickles
Ingredients

- 16 lb. Cucumbers
- 1 gallon white vinegar
- 1 box pickling spice
- 1 quart plain salt
- About 4 oz. Alum
- 10 lb. Sugar
Instructions
- Wash cucumbers and put in container with salt water for five days. Take out and
- put in alum water. Let set over night. Remove and wash well. Slice and let set
- in vinegar over night. Pour off vinegar and put sugar over cucumbers. Let set
- until syrup rises (about a day)
