Ingredients
  

  • 2 c. plus 2 T. flour self-rising
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 t. vanilla flavoring
  • 4 egg whites

Instructions
 

  • Stir flour, sugar and shortening together. Add milk and flavoring. Beat vigor-
  • ously 200 strokes or for 2 minutes. Add unbeaten egg whites and continue beat-
  • ing 2 more minutes. Batter will be thin. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 min-
  • utes.
